Ellen DeGeneres, syndicated talk show host and one of my favorite comedians, will be at the Grove in LA early next month, signing copies of her new book, sure to be a bestseller, titled “Seriously…I’m Kidding.”
Ellen has been the host of the long running and hugely popular “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” which debuted in 2003 and has garnered 32 Daytime Emmy Awards to date. Ellen has also starred in two TV sitcoms named after her, “Ellen” (1994-1998) and “The Ellen Show” (2001-2002). As actress, she has earned 12 Emmy Awards. She had a brief turn as a judge on “American Idol” in its 9th Season and was the host of the 79th Annual Academy Awards and the 53rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. On the silver screen, she starred alongside Bill Pullman in the comedy “Mr. Wrong” and provided the voice of Dory in the animated film “Finding Nemo.” On August 16, 2008, she and actress Portia de Rossi were married at their Beverly Hills home following the overturn of the same-sex marriage ban in the state of California.
