About the Event:
The Festival is a celebration of the written and spoken word intended to encourage a love of language and literature among students, teachers and the community at large. The event brings nationally renowned authors to our Oak Cliff campus to share their insights about the craft of writing and literature’s ability to explore contemporary issues in creative ways. Two-time National Book Award winner Jesmyn Ward, NAACP Image Award and Kirkus Prize winner Jason Reynolds, and Newbery medalist Matt de la Peña appeared at previous festivals.
