“The Dude” himself, Oscar-winning actor Jeff Bridges will be making a special appearance to promote the B&N Exclusive Version (it has two bonus tracks) of his self-titled major-label debut album “Jeff Bridges.”
Formerly most noted as “The Dude” (Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski) in 1998’s The Big Lebowski, Bridges has since moved into Oscar territory with his 2010 Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role win for his role as Otis “Bad” Blake in Crazy Heart (2009). Son of the legendary Lloyd Bridges and Dorothy Bridges, and brother to actor Beau Bridges, Jeff has been repeatedly noted for being one of the most likable men in Hollywood. My personal favorite is his role of Jack in Terry Gilliam’s The Fisher King. Bridges has 39 nominations and 20 wins under his belt, including the Oscar, Saturn Award, BAFTA and Golden Globe, among others. He’s a co-founder of End Hunger Network and in November 2010, he became the spokesman for the Share our Strength “No Kid Hungry Campaign.” His self-titled CD “Jeff Bridges” will be released on August 16, 2011.

From the Label
Jeff Bridges’s self-titled major-label debut album reunites the celebrated actor with his Crazy Heart collaborator, the Grammy Award and Oscar-winning songwriter, musician, and producer T Bone Burnett. The album is an organic extension and culmination of a 30-year personal, professional, and now musical friendship between Bridges and Burnett.
It features songs by a host of world-class songwriters, including Burnett’s Crazy Heart collaborators the late Stephen Bruton and John Goodwin, as well as Greg Brown alongside several written, or co-written, by Bridges himself.
To perform the songs, Burnett assembled a number of his key repertory players, including keyboardist Keefus Ciancia, guitarist Mark Ribot, bassist Dennis Crouch, pedal steel guitarist Russ Pahl, and drummer Jay Bellerose, as well as guest vocalists Rosanne Cash, Ryan Bingham, Sam Phillips, and Benji Hughes.
Thanks for the info, I love Jeff Bridges!
